Hi!  I've long had a loathing for writing biographies (I do a lot of theatre, so sadly have to do quite a bit of this sort of thing) and don't really know what to say about myself without sounding like a right royal tosser.

So I'll just jot down a couple of thoughts about what taking photos means to me, if that's ok.

I have always longed for a means of creative expression, and get this in three ways - music, theatre and photography.  Photography is a very different medium than the other two, as it lets you be in an observing role a lot more, and in the case of landscapes, gives me time to meditate, be in the presence of nature, and spend time both exploring and appreciating places I might otherwise miss.

When it comes to shooting people, I guess I approach photos much like theatre - a collaborative effort of creating something that is aesthetically pleasing, tells an interesting story, and captures something of how my collaborators (models) see themselves or want to see themselves.  Sometimes, this can also come in the form of tapping parts of the psyche that people wouldn't normally feel represents them - creating a fictional "character", however this process can be a lot of fun, and a freeing way to explore other parts of human experience.

I'm always open to exploring new ideas with my camera, either alone or with other people, and I'm available to do things like band photos, headshots for actors and businesses, website concept images, weddings, or artistic collaborative projects.  Have a look at my contact page for an idea of costs for professional work.

Hope you enjoy my images!
